YouTuber DailyDrivenExotics accuses California police of “illegal entrapment” after supercar traffic stop
Damon Fryer, founder of YouTube car group DailyDrivenExotics, accused the California Highway Patrol of “illegal entrapment” after he and a friend were pulled over in their sports cars — despite driving under the speed limit.
Canadian internet star Damon Fryer, known for foundingDailyDrivenExotics, is a car enthusiast and YouTuber who aims to “break the mold of exotic car culture by bringing supercars to the streets.”
While he’s no stranger to the occasional interaction with police, his latest encounter with the law left him baffled and outraged, even accusing the CHP of “entrapment.”
DailyDrivenExotics pulled over for ‘impeding’ after slowing down due to police presence
On July 16, 2025, Fryer uploaded a video showing himself cruising on the freeway when he and his friend, who was also driving a luxury car, got pulled over by two police officers.
After pulling into a parking lot, the cops informed the YouTuber and his buddy that they were driving 45 mph on the highway, which usually have speed limits of 55 mph – 70 mph in Southern California.
However, Fryer claims they slowed down after a “swarm” of police cars surrounded them on the road, prompting them to reduce their speed in the event of a stop or possible oncoming traffic incident.
“That was wild,” he said during his vlog, recording police pulling over several drivers unrelated to him. “Like, they were waiting. They were absolutely waiting.”
“Everyone was slowing down because they saw seven officers ripping onto the freeway,” he explained to one of the officers. We all slow down, the other traffic in front of us slows down… that’s the cause of slowing down on the freeway.

“You guys only pulled over the exotic cars? Do you not find that weird? So, you guys target us or do you guys like colorful cars?”
Ultimately, Fryer was served a ticket for ‘impeding,’ with the officer claiming he was ‘slowing down traffic’ while filming for his vlog, and encouraged the YouTuber to take his footage to court to contest the citation.
In the caption of his video, he accused LAPD of “entrapment,” which is defined by theUS Department of Justiceas “a complete defense to a criminal charge, on the theory that “Government agents may not originate a criminal design, implant in an innocent person’s mind the disposition to commit a criminal act, and then induce commission of the crime so that the Government may prosecute.”
Commenters are largely on Fryer’s side, sympathizing with the YouTuber’s plight as a supercar enthusiast enjoying a weekend drive.
This isn’t the first time DDE has gone viral for an incident caught on one of their vlogs; in December 2022, Fryer filmed the exact moment his McLaren 720 GTR wascrashed into by a Dodge Challengerin a “shock” accident.
