Joining the Marvel Universe in 1980 courtesy of Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Kate Pryde was raised by the X-Men and went from being a young and confused teenager to the steadfast leader of multiple X-Men-related teams. Receiving various looks over the years, ranging from her first yellow and black X-Men outfit to theoriginal iteration of her Shadowat costumeto her more recent Krakoa-era pirate-esque redesign — some of which Alicia has already adapted into cosplay form — Kate doesn’t skimp when selecting which superhero spandex to wear, making her one of the most visually distinct Marvel heroes around.
Photographed exploding from the inside of one of Orchis’ Stark Sentinels— a towering machine enemy that utilizes Iron Man tech to track down fugitive mutants — Alicia’s take on Kate Pryde’smore recent ninja-like Shadowkat designsees her dress in comic-accurate blue and black tones with the costume’s fabric hood and mask pulled up, while simultaneously dual-wielding Shadowkat’s signature katana blades to complete the look.
