The Kylo Ren Theme Can Be Heard At the End of the Episode
The end ofThe Acolyteepisode 5 sees Qimir come across Osha, who was still passed out after Mae had Force pushed her and taken on her identity. As he bends down towards her, he says,“What extraordinary beings we are. Even in the revelation of our triumph, you see the depth of our despair.”From there, Qimir covers Osha’s body with his cloak. However, what’s most significant about this moment is that John Williams’ Kylo Ren motif is playing in the background.
The music forThe Acolyteis handled byMichael Abels, but it’s unclear if the choice to include Kylo Ren’s motif from theStar Warssequel trilogy was his choice, or was included at the behest of the episode’s director - or even showrunner Leslye Headland. The moment where this plays is subtle, andunless a viewer is well versed in the music ofStar Wars, they may not have caught the nod.It’s an interesting moment to have this music play, which poses the questions of why this moment and why the characters of Qimir and Osha.

Ever since it was revealed that Amandla Stenberg was playing two characters, twins Osha and Mae, it has been theorized that they are part of aForce Dyad.The phenomenon was seen between Kylo Ren and Rey in the sequel trilogy, though it’s been absent since.Having Kylo Ren’s motif play during the moment with Qimir and Osha could indicate that Qimir is aware the twins are part of a Force Dyad and that he may use that connection to get what he wants.
