The Acolyte Reveals The Sith Lord Identity, Sets Up Major Twists To Protect Star Wars Canon
The Acolyte episode 5 revealed the true identity of its mysterious Sith Lord, but the ending sets up massive twists to preserve Star Wars canon.
The Sith’s New Lightsaber Is The Perfect Weapon Against The Jedi
InThe Acolyteepisode 5, the Sith, who is revealed to be Qimir, although he also goes by the name the Stranger, engages in incredible lightsaber battles with multiple Jedi. While the fight between the Stranger and Master Sol displays their respective abilities and is no doubt impressive, surprisingly, it is the Stranger’s fight with Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon that is the best of them all. Because of Jecki’s astounding skills with a lightsaber, the Stranger must reveal the secret of his lightsaber: a smaller, concealed blade.
Because of Jecki’s astounding skills with a lightsaber, the Stranger must reveal the secret of his lightsaber: a smaller, concealed blade.
It is with this surprise second blade that the Stranger manages to kill Jecki, as she is busy blocking what she believed was his only lightsaber when he pulls out the smaller saber, stabbing her multiple times. In addition to how painful this moment is, it also reveals how dangerous the Sith’s new lightsaber truly is for the Jedi. In truth, this is the perfect weapon forThe Acolyte’sSith, as the show has introduced other new lightsabers to the small screen.
Most notably, the lightwhip will finally be on-screen inStar Wars, wielded by Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh, whose purple lightwhip is also reminiscent of Mace Windu’s saber. This is just one example of how creativeStar Warshas become with lightsabers, though; a far cry from the red, blue, and green standard sabers of the original trilogy,Star Warshas since introduced double-bladed lightsabers, shoto sabers, and even a lightsaber-blaster combination on screen.
With this secret blade, the Stranger has a major advantage in his battles with the Jedi. As Jecki’s tragic demise proved, the effectiveness of the element of surprise is tremendous. In light of that, even when confronted with these more inventive, complex lightsabers, the Stranger will maintain an advantage. Truly,Star Wars: The Acolytehas introduced a terrifying new weapon in its most recent episode, and theStar Warsdatabank’s additional context reveals just how grave this new lightsaber is.
