Split Fiction’s release was so successful that it broke multiple world records
Split Fiction has only been available for a few weeks, but it’s already broken three massive Guinness World Records.
Released on August 13, 2025, by the developers of the super-popular co-op game It Takes Two, Split Fiction offers yet another unique experience.

It quickly began to receiveoverwhelmingly positive reviewsright after release, and its player count on Steam surpassed 197,434 in just 24 hours.
On Friday, March 28,Guinness World Records revealedthat Split Fiction has broken three different records, prompting a response from the studio’s founder.

Hazelight was already a developer known for making great co-op experiences, but now they have the records to back it.

According to GWR, all three of Split Fictions records are focused on the fact the game offers local co-op for gamers to enjoy.

Shortly after Guinness World Records shared the Split Fiction news, game director Josef Fares responded, thanking fans for the success in the process.

Fans immediately began to flock to the replies of Fares’ post to share their support for the game and the success that it’s had since launch.
