Peacemaker Season 2 is just shy of the highest Rotten Tomatoes score in DC history
Peacemaker Season 2is one of the highest-rated adaptationsDChas ever produced, with its Rotten Tomatoes score putting it in second place on the all-time rankings.
James Gunn hasn’t been given a green splat on Rotten Tomatoes since 2010’s Super. Every movie he’s directed over the past 15 years (excluding his segment in Movie 43) has a Certified Fresh score; that’s every Guardians of the Galaxy project, The Suicide Squad, and Superman.
Peacemaker, where he’s credited as creator, producer, writer, and director on several episodes, has been similarly acclaimed.
Its first season earned a 93% score, and with the benefit of record-high viewership on HBO Max, it paved the way for Season 2 – and, arguably, his current position as co-CEO. Now, he’s just shy of matching an incredible record.
Peacemaker Season 2 climbs to 99% on Rotten Tomatoes
At the time of writing, Peacemaker Season 2 has a 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
That’s higher than The Dark Knight (94%), Wonder Woman (93%), The Suicide Squad (90%), HBO’s Watchmen TV show (96%), and The Penguin (95%), as well as every other project in the DCEU.
However, it’s worth pointing out that 17 other DC movies and TV shows have perfect 100% scores on Rotten Tomatoes, which you can find listed below:
That’s a huge selection of titles that are joint first, but there’s something else you should consider: unlike those titles, many of which have very few reviews that contribute towards their score, Peacemaker Season 2 has 58 separate reviews, making it Certified Fresh – something that can’t be said for the above films and shows.

That’s not to say that makes it better than any of them, but it’s arguably a greater achievement, especially for a character whose on-screen legacy is pretty nascent (not to mention edgy, violent, andveryR-rated). Also, Season 2 is the only DC project with a 99% score, so it’s not tied with anything else.
In our review of the second season, we awarded it four stars and said that while it isn’t “as exciting or funny as the entirety of Season 1, the new stakes make it a different show that packs much more of an emotional punch.”
