Summary

Netflix’s animated seriesJurassic World: Chaos Theorycleverly expands upon the raptor control storyline inJurassic World Dominion. As a sequel to the seriesCamp Cretaceous, the new show focuses on the Nublar Six as they get tracked down by an enemy who wants to kill them all, following thedeath of Brooklynn inJurassic World: Chaos Theory. They soon discover they aren’t just being hunted by humans. Instead, they’re being hunted by highly-trained killer atrociraptors.

While the strongest connection to the larger franchise is the previous animated series, the show includes references to the movies as well. They discuss the dinosaurs on the Lockwood estate, where Maisie and her grandfather, Benjamin Lockwood, lived. This ties into the ending ofJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which occurs earlier in theJurassic Parktimeline. However, the new Netflix animated series also deeply connects toJurassic World Dominion, expanding on one of its most original plot points.

Raptor Control Appears In Chaos Theory And Jurassic World Dominion

The Presence Of Attack Atrociraptors Connects The Jurassic World Movies And TV Shows

The raptor control is the biggest throughline that connectsJurassic World: Chaos TheorytoJurassic World Dominion. InJurassic World Dominion, Soyona Santos trained four atrociraptors named Ghost, Tiger, Red, and Panthera to attack and murder when she used a laser pointer. She shipped them to Malta as a midpoint on the way to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, the French Intelligence Agency and Owen Grady intervened in the transaction. This raptor control is mirrored inJurassic World: Chaos Theorywith the mysterious womanworking with the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife (DPW), who eventually turns on Cabrera after he fires her.

InJurassic World: Chaos Theory, the mysterious woman has trained atrociraptors that she uses to hunt down and attackthe Nublar Sixusing a whistle. The whistle patterns each give different instructions. These atrociraptors continue to attack as if it’s their prime directive until the woman instructs them otherwise. Like the ones inJurassic World Dominion, the atrociraptors have every intention of murdering their target rather than just attacking them. Similar to Tiger and Panthera, the atrociraptors inJurassic World: Chaos Theoryhave orange coloring with stripes

The Atrociraptor Control Is More Advanced In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

While bothDominionandChaos Theoryinclude atrociraptor control, the TV show’s atrociraptors are much more advanced. For starters, they respond to sound rather than a visual cue, making it possible for them to react to the cues from further away and when facing in any direction. They don’t need to face the target to see the laser pointer. There’s also the possibility that the atrociraptors inJurassic World: Chaos Theorycould be controlled remotely if a device provided the whistle sound, which would be more challenging for the lasers.

Jurassic World’s New Show Is The Jurassic Park Sequel I’ve Been Waiting Years For

The upcoming Jurassic World: Chaos Theory builds off the events of the prior show and films to set up an exciting future for the franchise.

Additionally, the atrociraptors inChaos Theoryrespond to multiple different commands, shown by the fact that she can make them retreat, attack, and go in a different direction – just as a few examples. The various different behaviors and commands point to the fact thatthey may be completely domesticated rather than trained wild animals. If they are domesticated, they don’t pose a danger to the person in charge of them. Whereas, theoretically, if someone pointed a laser at Soyona Santos, the atrociraptors would kill her without hesitation.

The uncontrollable ruthlessness doesn’t seem to be the case with the mysterious woman’s dinosaurs. In fact, when they aren’t being instructed at theend ofJurassic World: Chaos Theoryseason 1, they seem to roll over on their sides like a dog would. This is an interesting change becauseChaos Theoryis set shortly before the events ofJurassic World Dominion(viaAWN). This points to the idea that the mysterious woman’s and Soyona Santos’s organizations are separate.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 2 Could Connect To Soyona Santos

Chaos Theory Could Mention Soyona Santos In The Future

While the organizations seem to be different based on their method of control, there is a clear connection between the mysterious woman’s actions and Soyona Santos due to one easy-to-miss detail. InJurassic World: Chaos Theoryseason 1, the Nublar Six discover thatsome of the dinosaurs illegally sold by the DPW are being sent to Malta, where Soyona Santos is located.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Producers On Darker, More Mature New Story After Camp Cretaceous

Screen Rant interviews producers Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley on Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, the sequel to Netflix’s Camp Cretaceous.

Though it’s not guaranteed that she would directly appear,Jurassic World: Chaos Theoryseason 2 could easily reference the dinosaur smuggler as they have with other Jurassic World characters. Moreover, the existence of two similar illegal dinosaur sales rings could point to a larger global network.
