Summary
A newGenshin Impact4.8 leak about event rewards for characters has been gaining traction as the next patch’s beta tests are starting following the release of Version 4.7. At the moment, the action RPG by HoYoverse is in the early stages of Version 4.7. The current patch introduced a brand-new Archon Quest that further delves into the story involving both the Traveler’s lost sibling and Dainsleif and is set to receive several other events during its six-week run (if there are no delays to upcoming content), which would impact the already confirmednew character inGenshin Impact4.8.
In addition to story and events, Version 4.7 is also getting three new playable characters. 5-star Clorinde and 4-star Sethos are already available in the banner system, while 5-star Sigewinne is expected to arrive in late June. In Version 4.8, players can expect the new Dendro character Emilie, who is rumored to be a 5-star sub-DPS with focus on the Burning reaction. New leaks about the next patch are emerging and, whileEmilie’s role inGenshin Impact4.8is in the spotlight, details about other additions are also noteworthy – especially the new leaks about some updated event rewards.

Imaginarium Theater May Get New Character Customization Options In Genshin Impact 4.8
Players May Unlock A New Activity For Bonus Rewards
According to alleged information provided by Seele Leaks, the new endgame mode called Imaginarium Theater, added with Version 4.7, will see an update in its rewards pool with Version 4.8. The leak shared onRedditdetails thatplayers will be able to use the keys obtained in the game mode to unlock special trails for five characters, and that this should be a permanent addition. Seele Leaks highlights that the update will not feature extra Primogems and focus solely on the new trails, that grant visual effects to these characters when they are moving inGenshin Impact.
Five Characters May Get Trails In Genshin Impact 4.8
Every Leaked Character Trail, Described
As seen in Seele Leaks’ information, the first five character trails to be released will be for Diluc, Jean, Qiqi, Ningguang, and Kirara. This leak is backed up by further details provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, which were posted onReddit, too. According to HomDGCat, players will need to complete some Performance Challenges in the Imaginarium Theater to obtain items called as Voyage Keys. By consuming two of these Voyage Keys, players can then unlock one of these characters’ Painted Voyage stage. Painted Voyage, according to the leaker, will be a new event mode inGenshin Impact4.8.
Each character’s Painted Voyage stage will have its own set of challengesto complete and modifiers. As seen in HomDGCat’s leak, Jean’s Painted Voyage stage, for instance, will inflict the active character with Smoldering Flames, causing them to take Pyro DMG until the Pyro element is removed. In Kirara’s challenge, Phase 2 will see the arena covered in water, applying Hydro to both the player’s characters and enemies. From the description provided for some of these characters' Painted Voyage inGenshin Impact4.8, these activities may be split into distinct phases, each with its own set of rules.

Genshin Impact: Best Clorinde Builds (Weapons, Artifacts, Team Comps, Stats)
Building Clorinde in Genshin Impact is not too difficult, but her Bond of Life mechanic may be misleading. Here’s how to optimize her damage output.
HomDGCat’s leak mentions that, once each challenge is completed, players will unlock the character’s respective Voyage Observation rewards. These rewards are the trails that were mentioned by Seele Leaks. A video obtained by Gura Leak, which was shared onReddit, showcases these rumored trail effects in action. When running, Kirara allegedly leaves behind a trail of green flowers, while Ninnguang leaves a glowing yellow trail with dropping leaves. Diluc, on the other hand, has a trail of burning red feathers. Jean is shown leaving behind dandelions and Qiqi is being followed by ghosts and leaving behind small snowflakes.

Kirara is, allegedly, getting special treatment, as she is also rumored to be anew free character giveaway inGenshin Impact4.8.
New Trails May Be An Incentive For Leveling Up Characters In Genshin Impact
Leaks Mention Units Need To Be At Level 90
In a response to the post about Seele Leaks’ information, aReddituser further describes the rumored Painted Voyage stages, which they call the Pictorial Trails challenge. According to the leaked information provided by this user, the character to which the stage corresponds must be at level 90 and players must have reached friendship level 8 with them. Having these characters at their maximum level could be a way of incentivizing players to invest in them or it is simply reflective of Imaginarium Theater’s heightened challenge as an endgame mode.
The requirement of having these characters at level 90 for a cosmetic does feel strange, however, especially considering how resource-demanding it can be to max out levels. If it is a way of incentivizing players to get them to the current cap, it could also be a way of preparing these characters for theleaked level update inGenshin Impact’s Natlan region, which is expected to increase the maximum character level to 100. If this is true, then the trail rewards could be a way of having these characters ready for the next cap increase instead of being completely underleveled.

If this is the case, however, the big problem with it is that the five characters mentioned in the leak are wildly underused compared to other 4-star and 5-star units present in the game. If HoYoverse’s desire is to make these characters relevant in the current state of the game, doing so with cosmetics is not the best way to do it – instead, it should invest in trails for more popular characters, even among those in the F2P roster to ensure more players have access to them and, subsequently, the possibility of getting trails inGenshin Impact4.8.
Genshin Impact Natlan Release Date Predictions (Based On Past Updates)
Although HoYoverse has not revealed the release date for Natlan in Genshin Impact, it is possible to predict exactly when it will arrive.
Of course, for now, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, even if they seem reliable and the video seems authentic. Some information provided may be incorrect and gameplay details like these could be subject to change ahead of its release. Nevertheless, the rumored new character trails – even if they are initially exclusive for underused characters like Diluc and Qiqi – set a new type of cosmetic in the game and establish what could be a new avenue of rewards for other characters inGenshin Impactas the game moves toward its fourth year of content.
