Season 1 was praised for its performance and intriguing science-fiction premise, but some critics took issue with the season’s lack of narrative focus. As seen in the chart above,season 2 has largely been an improvement over season 1 in terms of critical reception. Audiences, too, tend to be enjoyingOuter Range’s sophomore outing more. The show’s greatest strength in season 2 seems to be a doubling down on the more outlandish elements of season 1, which has in turn helped the series find its footing and clearly establish its own sci-fi niche.
