There’s a Technoblade tribute in A Minecraft Movie
The rumors – well, quietly confirmed news– are true. A tribute to late YouTuber Technoblade is in A Minecraft Movie, but you’re going to need to be quick to spot it.
As Steve gives Garrett, Dawn, Natalie, and Henry the grand tour of his village (aptly named “Steve’s World”), the group strolls down a road finding a pig with a crown among the villagers and other animals. They notice before he walks off… and that’s basically that.

Minecraft’s Creative Director of Original Content, Torfi Frans Ólafsson, confirmed the news on March 30.
“That felt like the right thing to do,” he said. “You’re gonna have to see it to see what it is.”
Mumbo Jumbo
Speaking to Dexerto, director Jared Hess and producer Torfi Ólafsson explained Mumbo Jumbo wanted to be part of A Minecraft Movie because his inspiration to be a filmmaker came from Hess’ most famous movie of all: Napoleon Dynamite.
“We reached out to him and asked him he wanted to help, and had very high praise about Napoleon Dynamite being the reason he wanted to become a filmmaker,” Ólafsson said.
Alongside his time on screen, Mumbo Jumbo ended up being responsible for the design of the Redstone Mine, including plenty of the traps you see being deployed during scenes there.
“He didn’t want to show them at first in case people were annoyed,” Ólafsson continued. “So we said ‘Maybe you could, like, put a couple of Redstone traps together.’ The day after, it all these amazing machines hit our inbox, and we could only use a handful of them.
“He’s one of the best Redstone geniuses on the planet,” Hess agreed. “As we were coming up with traps he just was instrumental, sharing so many great things with us.”
Out of all the cameos, this one should be the most obvious. Why? Because DanTDM gave it away himself. During the movie’s world premiere, hepostedon Instagram, “I’M IN THE MINECRAFT MOVIE with this lovely bunch. See if you can spot us when you go see it! Had a great time at the world premiere today. This has been the hardest secret to keep.”
He also visited the set to ‘consult’ back in November 2024, posting a video on his YouTube channel.
LDShadowLady
Another popular Minecraft creator, it’s not surprising to see LDShadowLady on the cameo list either. Originally part of all-female gaming group The Pixel Pact during her start in 2012, she soon switched upCall of Dutycontent for Minecraft gameplay.
Along with YouTuber husband SmallishBeans, she’s created several single-player Minecraft series and SMPs, such as Shadowcraft and X Life.
Valkyrae’s cameo isn’t straightforward
However, her official cameo in A Minecraft Movie was allegedly cut after comments made about lead actor Jason Momoa resurfaced.
During an appearance on JasonTheWeen’s Twitch stream, she was asked about her time on the Minecraft Movie set – and didn’t speak particularly highly of Momoa.
“I would have to say Jason Momoa,” Valkyraesaidof her worst celebrity encounter. “I just saw him mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing.
“It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character, I don’t know, but I was just kind of surprised by how he treated some of the crew. He was just really mad at them that they weren’t doing something right. It was like setting up the shot and stuff and he was just angry, like really mad and yelling.
“I was like, this is not a good work environment, like I would not be happy working under these conditions.”
If you pay attention, you can still see Valkyrae in a brief background shot of the garage auction scene, circled below:
In later close-ups of the same scene, Valkyrae can’t be seen. “As for the Minecraft Movie, let’s just say I’m not gonna touch too much on it, but as much as you guys saw the other creators that were in it, (it) would have been the equal amount you saw me in it which is 30 seconds. So it’s okay. I would much rather not have 30 seconds than be sued,” she said in a stream on July 10, 2025.
No official reason for the alleged cutting has been given.
