After the success ofInside Out 2, a sequel is already on the horizon. Following up on 2015’sInside Out, the movie continues Riley’s growth, and she begins to develop new emotions. With social problems mounting as Riley nears high school, her inner emotions begin to boil over, asInside Out 2’s new emotions, Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui, begin to emerge. The movie premiered domestically on June 14 and is already dominating the box office.

In an interview withUSA Today, director Kelsey Mann admits thatthere are already some ideas for a follow-up movie. Many, Mann notes, were intended to be inInside Out 2but needed to be cut for a variety of reasons. There’s something about the ‘Inside Out’ world where it’s met with open arms. Everybody’s like, ‘What age is she? I can’t wait to hear where she is in her life'. [We have]a whole stockpile of ideas. They’re too good, they’re too funny, they’re too interesting for them not to be tapped into. So I have no idea where the future will go, (but) it should continue because I think it’s something that the audience really wants.

Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the 2015 original film, which starred a young girl named Riley with a head full of emotions. - literally. With Amy Pohler as Joy, Bill Hader as fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, the all-star cast brought to life the emotions that adolescents face as they grow, change, and adapt to new situations. This sequel, currently in development, will bring Amy Pohler back as Joy, with Riley, now a teenager.
