Fortnite’s highly-anticipated Mechagodzilla and Godzilla Evolved skins are arriving soon. Here’s how players can unlock both Kaiju outfits this season.
TheChapter 6 Season 1Battle Pass features numerous Japan-themed skins and items, with one skin modeled after Big Hero 6’s Baymax.
Notably, theKing of Monsterswill round out the Battle Pass content in a future update, so players can’t unlock him just yet, and there’s also a Mechagodzilla skin set to join separately.

When will the Godzilla Evolved and Mechagodzilla skin launch in Fortnite?
Godzilla Evolvedwill be available onJanuary 17, 2025, whileMechaGodzillawill arrive a day earlier onJanuary 16.
Only players who purchase theChapter 6 Season 1 Battle Passcan claimGodzilla’s Evolved skinwhile Mechagodzilla skin is available to anyone with enough V-bucks to buy it. It’s worth noting that Chapter 6’s Season 1 Battle Pass costs 1,000 V-Bucks and will remain available to purchase through August 23, 2025 at 5:00 AM EST.
Once available, the monstrous cosmetics will be usable across Fortnite’s Battle Royale, Festival, and Rocket Racing game modes.
How to claim the Godzilla Evolved skin
To unlock the Godzilla Evolved skin in Fortnite, players mustpurchase the Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass for 1,000 V-Bucksandprogress to level six of the Godzilla Evolved rewardsfound on the first page.
In order to level up the Battle Pass and unlock rewards for the legendary Kaiju, players must earn two Account Levels per reward by gaining 80,000 XP per level through gameplay andcompleting quests.

This marks a significant change from previous seasons, where mid-season featured BP skins were unlocked by completing special quests.Players unaware of the change were left frustrated, after they had already begun grinding theGodzilla questsintroduced in the v33.20 update on January 14.
There are 12 different Godzilla cosmetic rewards on offer, including an alternate Energized Godzilla skin style that requires players to complete both pages of the mini-pass, by earning 24 Account Levels in total.
However, since developers modeled the first skin after the “evolved” Godzilla from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, his second cosmetic may similarly take inspiration from Legendary’s ongoing MonsterVerse.
How to get the Mechagodzilla skin in Fortnite
While Fortnite hasn’t announced an exact date for Mechagodzilla’s departure from the Item Shop, theGodzilla questsend on January 31, so it’s likely he’ll be gone by then.
