Celestial Nighthawk is aDestiny 2classic; introduced on release, this Hunter exotic quickly became meta for any situation where you need a lot of damage. This exotic’s perk, Hawkeye Hack, has a few benefits. The first is that it combines all your Gunslinger Golden Gun shots into one shot, empowering it to do truly massive damage. Secondly, precision kills reduce your super cooldown, meaning you have even more uptime on that considerable damage. LikeSubracers are for Warlocks, Celestial Nighthawk is a staple of the Hunter class.

Celestial has been huge in the raid and dungeon scene since its inception, but now, with the release of Still Hunt, it’s even more powerful. Still, Hunt is aFinal Shapeexotic allowing you to hold the reload button to activate Golden Gun, regardless of class. This allows Hunters running Gunslinger already to have two Golden Guns on demand and, even better, two Celestial Nighthawk-empowered Golden Guns on command. To some players' dismay, the Celestial/Still Hunt setup is becoming a must-have for raid encounters, so here’s how to find it.

Let The Exotic Hunt Begin

Like other world-drop exotics,Celestial Nighthawk is a random drop from any Exotic Engrams you cangetwhile playing missions inDestiny 2. There’s not much you may do to increase your chances of an exotic dropping, although high-end content like GM Nightfalls is likelier to have them drop.

You can also complete pinnacle activities to increase this chance, but it is up to luck. Once you’ve gotten your engram, head back to Rahool.

Master Rahool’s engramfocusing has changed a little inThe Final Shape.Instead of turning in exotic engrams and hoping you get the drop you want, you can nowspend Ascendant Shards and Exotic Ciphersto pick which Exotic you’d like. Once you’ve got the materials needed, go to Rahool with your engram and decode it into a Celestial Nighthawk.

Stats and Equipment

When it comes to the best build for Celestial Nighthawk, what you build into stat-wise will depend a lot on your playstyle. For most Guardians, having a high Resilience stat is a must, as it reduces all incoming damage by a percentage depending on your tier.

As Hawkeye Hack refunds your super with precision kills, having a lower Intellect stat on your armor means you’ll be able to roll higher in other stats without worrying about having your super back. Any Celestial Nighthawk roll withhigh Res. and low Int.will set you up nicely.

As for your subclass, Hunters are lucky enough to have access to Golden Gun on Prismatic. With how strongPrismatic builds can be inDestiny 2, it’s the logical choice to pick it over the traditional Solar Hunter builds for this exotic. That being said, the setup relies on your playstyle.

The most crucial part is your loadout;ensure you’ve got Still Huntequipped in your energy slot andthree Solar Surge mods to empower your Solar weapon damage.

Prismatic Celestial Nighthawk Hunter Build

Set Up Your Prism Hunter For Success

While Prismatic has had an underwhelming response in some circles, there’s no denying that Prismatic Hunter has some incredible potential. There’s no one right build for Celestial Prism Hunter,as most of your Celestial usage comes from running Still Hunt and using your super.

Despite this, one build is recommended simply because of how strong it is.Check out the YouTube video fromKackis HDabove for a full walkthrough. Using the following pieces, here’s how your build should look:

Purpose

Special Finisher

This build is less focused on making your Golden Gun better and more focused on your PvE performance, save for the starred parts of the build. Generally speaking, all your armor mods are focused on getting you more Orbs of Light to charge your super as fast as possible, but it’s the aspects and abilities that really make this build shine.

Gambler’s Dodge refunds your melee on activation, and killing anything with your melee refunds that dodge. Thanks to Combination Blow’s stacking damage, this cycle will continue as long as you can stay alive.

Duskfield Grenade means that you may slow and freeze far-away enemies, leaving you free to deal with the more pressing enemies that happen to be in convenient melee range. This also applies an elemental debuff, triggering Stylish Executioner.

Alongside your melee and dodge working together, your Aspects work together just as well. On top of the melee/dodge loop you’re running,Stylish Executioner’s buff now activates on any elemental debuff, granting you invisibility upon getting a Combination Blow kill.Meleeing while invisible will weaken your target, allowing you to do even more bonus damage.

Finally, your fragments add extra survivability to your otherwise excellent build.Facet of Courage boosts your damage to Dark-debuffed targets(Duskfield Grenade and weakened enemies), while Facet of Dawn makes you Radiant on powered melee kill. As you can see, these two Fragments really empower your melees even more and are essential to granting you the punching power this build promises.

Destiny 2: How To Get The New Exotic Class Items (The Final Shape)

Destiny 2 has a new hidden exotic mission, Dual Destiny, this week that players can find and unlock in order to acquire the new exotic class items.

The last three Fragments,Facets of Blessing, Protection, and Purpose, all provide some health regeneration, Restoration, or damage resistance. Even with these Fragments in effect, you’ll still be pretty squishy, so stay aware of where you are when you’re lost in the melee.

The Celestial Nighthawk/Still Hunt combination is one of the strongestDestiny 2has ever seen. No matter what Fragments, Abiliters andAspect you run, inDestiny 2, you can get value off your super if you hit your shots.

Armor charges empowering your Golden Gun make this threat even more lethal. As long as you have anarmor charge mod on to ensure you’re gaining charge for those Surge mods, your Golden Gun shots should be strong enough to pull you through any level of content inDestiny 2.
