Borderlands 4 is giving Fortnite players a free skin but there’s a catch
Fortnitejust dropped a gift forBorderlandsfans, but it’s locked behind one of the most divisive stores in gaming.
Borderlands and Fortnite go way back. Their first big crossover landed in 2019 with theFortnite x Mayhem event. It brought a full Pandora zone to the island, complete with cel-shaded graphics and shield regen. The star item was, of course, The Psycho Bandit Bundle, including thePsycho skin, Claptrap back bling, and Buzz Axes.

Players could buy it or get it free by grabbing Borderlands 3 on Epic’s store. That skin disappeared for years, only returning in April 2025 as hype for Borderlands 4 built. It’s still rare, still popular, and only available in bundles.
Now Fortnite’s adding Moxxi to the mix. The Mad Moxxi skin bundle is coming to the Item Shop on September 29, but, if you preorder Borderlands 4 on the Epic Games Store, you can get it way earlier. And for free.
