Beavis & Butt-Head coming to Call of Duty in bizarre crossover

In one of the most unexpected collabs the series has done to date, cartoon icons Beavis and Butt-Head are officially coming to Call of Duty as skins in Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Call of Dutyis no stranger to crossovers these days, with many of the world’s biggest names taking over the game temporarily. In the Black Ops 6 era alone, we’ve seen the likes ofTerminator,Ballerina, and even theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesarrive as skins.

But despite this long history of collaborating with well-known franchises, very few players would have expected to see Beavis and Butt-Head show up. Well, believe it, because that’s exactly what’s happening.

The news was confirmed on June 23, when the official Call of Duty X account shared a teaser, along with the caption: “Mike Judge’s Beavis & Butt-Head are coming to Call of Duty Season 04 Reloaded.”

What’s most striking is that while the two characters both have their signature cartoon art style, they’re also wearing mil-sim tactical gear. The post also shows a cel-shaded version of the Rebirth Island map, but it’s unclear right now if this will actually be added to the game or if it’s just for marketing purposes.

There’s currently no official release date for the skins, but Season 4 Reloaded is expected to get underway on either June 26 or July 3 based on previous updates. The skins will likely be available to purchase from the in-game store, but there may also be a limited-time Beavis and Butt-Head event full of extra rewards to earn.

Skins have been a hot topic among CoD fans for some time now, with many players wishing that the series would go back to more realistic mil-sim characters rather than wacky crossovers. It’s no surprise, then, that plenty of fans have criticized this announcement.

“What in the fresh f**k is this?” asked one player onReddit.

“What has COD become?!?! I literally thought this was Fortnite before I seen who posted it,” added another.

However, there were also plenty of players who over the moon to see two of their favorite childhood characters come to the game.

“This may be the first bundle I buy. The only dilemma will be which one do I get of the two!” said one happy fan.

“Legit one of the funniest collabs ever, can’t wait to mess around with these legends,” posted another.
