When Amy and Tammy’s half-brother, Chris Combs, made his television debut, he weighed 450 pounds. Thoughhe embarked on his weight-loss journey in a team effort alongside Tammy, he lost weight at a faster rate. By1000-lb Sistersseason 3, Chris received bariatric surgery, after whichChris lost 150 pounds. In April 2024, the fan account@1000lb_realitytv_updatesposted a family photo to Instagram. In the photo, Chris proudly embraces his three little grandchildren.

Chris talked about wanting to lose weight so he could be around for his grandchildren.His own father had died in his 50s, due to complications from obesity, and Chris didn’t want to meet the same end. Not only did he want to see his grandchildren grow up, Chris also wanted to inspire his daughter, who was starting to struggle with her own weight.
