The Ten Rings Could Connect To Kang

Shang-Chi 2

Shang-Chi 2 is the direct sequel to Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It brings back Simu Liu’s titular martial arts expert after his fight with his father Xu Wenwu, now wielding the ten rings and confident in his skills as a superhero.

2021’sShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringswas one of the most interesting new movies in the MCUsince the start of the Multiverse Saga. That is why it is shocking that Marvel still has to do much with Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi. In the Infinity Saga days, the hero would already have had a few more appearances, likely including a sequel, but at leastShang-Chi 2is in development, with director Destin Daniel Cretton expected to return after he dropped out ofAvengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Cretton being the original choice for the Avengers film is interesting, asShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' post-credits sceneshowedWong, Captain Marvel, and Bruce Banner commenting on the ancient origin of the Ten Rings, which many have speculated could be connected to a Kang the Conqueror variant.Shang-Chi 2could explore that connection, perhaps with the added element of a return from Iron Fist to the MCU, furthering the franchise’s mystical side.

Clint Barton Can Return For A Final Run

Hawkeye

In Hawkeye, former Avenger Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye, has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Unfortunately for him, things get derailed when Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a superhero, accidentally steals a suit from his dark past. Kate, who idolizes the Avenger after watching him face the odds as a child during the events of the first Avengers film, wants to learn from him, but he wants to bury his past and move on. However, the two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit. Hawkeye acts as the introduction point for Kate Bishops’ entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will have a semi-continuation of some of its essential cast members in Marvel’s Echo, arriving on Disney+ in 2023.

Hawkeye is one of the most fun series to come out of Marvel’s Disney+ journey. Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as the tired veteran hero alongside Hailee Steinfeld’s youthful, talkative Kate Bishop made for one of the best MCU duos. At 53,Renner’s time as Hawkeye could be over by the end of the Multiverse Saga, and after spending most of his time in the MCU as a supporting character, Clint deserves another go at being the main star of a project.

Wright deserves to close out the MCU’s Black Panther trilogy before the rumored franchise reboot. Thanks to the Multiverse Saga, it is likely that the MCU will see a new version of T’Challa debut in some form over the next few years, and afterBlack Panther 3, the new T’Challa could take over from Shuri.

Avengers: Doomsday (2026)

As the first Avengers movie since 2019’sAvengers: Endgame, 2026’sAvengers: The Kang Dynastystands as one of the most exciting sequels in the Multiverse Saga. WhileJonathan Majors' MCU firingputs the future of Kang the Conqueror and the title and story of the fifth Avengers movie in question,Avengers: The Kang Dynastyis an MCU event years in the making. To continue the Multiverse Saga’s setup, Marvel has to recast Kang for the film.

The best possible way to do that is by making full use of the multiverse. Instead of having just one actor play Kang and all his variants as Majors did, the MCU could cast several stars as the important Kang variants that will appear in the movie. Kang aside, the film is exciting becauseit will restart the Avengers in the MCU, and with so many new additions over the last few years, who will be on the team is an intriguing question.

Finally, there is no other sequel that could happen before the Multiverse Saga that is more exciting than 2027’sAvengers: Secret Wars.
